Young India: Know Thyself Enters Its 10th Season
Vivekananda Kendra Delhi Branch launches 10th season of its flagship youth leadership development programme
New Delhi : Vivekananda Kendra, Delhi Branch, launched the 10th season of its flagship youth leadership development programme, “Young India: Know Thyself,” on Sunday at the Vivekananda International Foundation, New Delhi.
The programme, which began in 2017, has grown significantly over the years, reaching more than 1.5 lakh students across several educational institutions in Delhi-NCR.
Briefing the portal about the journey of the programme, Dr. Nikhil Yadav, Mentor of “Young India: Know Thyself” and Deputy Head, Vivekananda Kendra, Uttar Prant, said that the initiative began in 2017 when four people came together with the idea of creating a meaningful platform for youth development. From this modest beginning, the programme has expanded over the years and has now reached students across numerous educational institutions in the region.
Dr.Nikhil Yadav further shared that more than 10,000 students have registered for the programme so far. Around 3,000 students have participated in one-day workshops, while more than 1,000 students have completed the five-day residential programme.
The launch of the 10th season brought together more than 150 students, scholars and faculty members from several educational institutions, including the University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
The event was attended by Prof. Dinesh Khattar, Principal, Kirori Mal College; Dr.AnanyaAwasthi, Director, Anuvad Solutions; and Shri Yajin Bhatt, Senior Karyakarta, Vivekananda Kendra, along with students, scholars and faculty members.
As part of the programme, several students presented their ideas and perspectives before the gathering. The presentations provided students an opportunity to reflect on leadership, personal growth, values and their role in society.
“Young India: Know Thyself” is designed as a leadership development initiative that encourages young people to understand themselves, recognise their strengths, develop leadership qualities and reflect on their responsibilities towards society and the nation.
The programme draws inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s vision of youth empowerment, character-building and nation-building, seeking to make his ideas relevant to the aspirations and challenges faced by young Indians today.
With the launch of its 10th season, Vivekananda Kendra Delhi Branch continues its efforts to engage young people through dialogue, experiential learning, self-discovery and leadership development.
